Srinagar, Mar 01 : A personal security officer (PSO) of a traffic officer on duty was injured when a speeding vehicle without a number plate hit him. The incident took place on Monday evening when the traffic officer and his PSO were regulating traffic in the area.
Reports reaching news agency, said the speeding vehicle hit the PSO, causing him to fall to the ground. In the chaos that followed, the PSO’s weapon accidentally discharged, but no damage or injury was reported. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before anyone could identify them.
“The injured PSO was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he received medical attention for his injuries.”
“A case has been registered at the Batmaloo police station against the driver of the speeding vehicle for rash and negligent driving. The police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the driver.”
Meanwhile, the traffic police Srinagar, on its official twitter handle wrote,“A speeding vehicle without number plate hit & injured a PSO of a traffic officer on duty, resulting in accidental discharge of PSO’s weapon, no damage/injury reported. Case registered in Batmaloo PS against rash & negligent driving.”
