International Yoga Day celebrated by Ekal Abhiyan Anchal Panchari, Bagh Udhampur in Collaboration with “Global Human Rights Trust” at Deodari Jungle (Tourist Place) Panchari of District Udhampur

UDHAMPUR/PANCHARI, 21 JUNE: International Yoga Day-2021 was celebrated by Ekal Abhiyan Anchal Panchari, Bagh Udhampur in collaboration with Global Human Rights Trust at tehsil Panchari of district Udhampur with great enthusiasm.
Experts from Ekal Abhiyan demonstrated various asanas followed by Omkar chanting. Warm up exercises were taken and all the members performed sitting and standing asanas, importance of these were explained simultaneously.
Since its inception in the year 2015, June 21st is celebrated as The International Day of Yoga all over the world. This idea was proposed by our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He said, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being.”

He said today it is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity. Recognizing its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as International Yoga Day by resolution 69/131. June 21, which is the Summer Solstice, is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world.
Dalbir Singh Bhag Rath Pramukh Said, “That yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.
On other hands Sham Singh Anchal Abhiyan Pramukh said, “That International Yoga Day aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. Recognizing this important role of Yoga, this year’s commemoration of the International Day of Yoga focuses on “Yoga for well-being” – how the practice of Yoga can promote the holistic health of every individual.
Angrez Singh Anchal Karyalya Pramukh and Baisha Singh Anchal Gatividhi Pramukh said that, “The World Health Organization mentions yoga as a means to improve health in its Global action plan on physical activity 2018–2030: more active people for a healthier world.
As we know regular practice of yoga will surely help our students cum locals achieve a better life, physically, mentally and spiritually as well.”Kamlesh Devi Bhag Vyas Said.”
The celebration concluded with synchronized recitation of shlokas and speech by Sanjeev Singh Anchal President cum Secretary Global Human Rights Trsut. He encouraged students/Locals to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration.
